The best player in Hawaii boys’ basketball is an easy pick. After that, it is debatable. The emergence of several rising stars in the past weeks at tournaments across the state helps, of course, in the process. Until next week, here are the top 10 roundballers in the current HondaReport.com Top 50 Players list. By Paul Honda HONOLULU—There is no doubt—and has been none for two years—about who the best player in the state is. After that, however, it’s all a matter of debate for Hawaii’s high school basketball fans. The HondaReport.com Top 50 Players list, which began on HawaiiSportsNetwork.com a month ago with just 20 players, debuts on HRC today. The top 10 players are: 1. Derrick Low, Iolani; 2. Sam Wilhoite, Kalaheo; 3. Jimmy Miyasaka, Kaimuki; 4. Jordon Dizon, Waimea; 5. Va’afuti Tavana, Kaua’i; 6. Tevita Finau, Kahuku; 7. Gene Rivera, Maui; 8. Jeremiah Ostrowski, Punahou; 9. Desmond Hanohano, Saint Louis; and 10. Ranson DeCosta, Damien. The complete Top 50 list is available in the premium section, which requires subscription to HondaReport.com.
