MILILANI—Polls are the nutritional equivalent of whipped cream.

Tasty. Fun. And despite their lack of real value, once in a while, polls tell us who really, really is sharing space.

Kaiser, coming off a resounding win over injury-plagued Kamehameha-O’ahu last week at the Imua Challenge, got a shot at the school's Division II team. This time, the D2 Warriors prevailed, 34-32, in a Thursday afternoon matchup at the Lady Trojan Invitational at Mililani High School.

Kaiser entered the game ranked seventh in the HondaReport.com Girls’ Basketball Top Ten.

Kahuku, the No. 1-ranked team, opened the tournament with a 69-23 win over Leilehua. In other games, Farrington looked like a potential title contender in the O’ahu Interscholastic Association by zapping Pearl City, 50-31. In Thursday’s final game, Mililani stifled Waimea, 36-22.

Kamehameha-O'ahu 34, Kaiser 32—No Warriors scored in double figures. Shardae Pratt led Kaiser with 14 points. Shera Yamaguchi added 10.

Farrington 50, Pearl City 31—Sunshine Misa-Uli showed little rust, powering her way to 18 points for the Lady Governors. Misa-Uli, a 5-foot-10 senior, won her second-consecutive 175 weight class state title at the wrestling championships Saturday.

Kamill Reigo de Rios scored eight points to pace the Chargers. Desiree Blaney added seven.

Mililani 36, Waimea 22—Ceslie Ma'afala pumped in 25 points as the Lady Trojans overwhelmed the Menehune. Mililani's full-court press and tight man halfcourt defense turned a 12-all tie after one quarter into a 24-13 lead in the second half.

Janna Soto led Waimea with nine points.

Kahuku 69, Leilehua 23—No statistics available.
