HONOLULU—Four of the top five teams shuffled, but Konawaena remains the top ‘Cat in this week’s HondaReport.com Girls’ Basketball Top Ten.
Konawaena (23-2, 11-0 Big Island Interscholastic Federation) remained No. 1 for a fifth-straight week. The Wildcats, who received 13 first-place votes from coaches and media, downed Laupahoehoe and Saint Joseph by lopsided margins to remain unbeaten in BIIF play.
 
Konawaena took the No. 1 spot away from Kahuku March 28.
Punahou (17-2, 9-0 Interscholastic League of Honolulu), with wins over Saint Francis and Mid-Pacific, moved up a notch to No. 2. The Buff n’ Blue collected four first-place votes while bumping Kahuku from the second spot to No. 3.
Kahuku (19-3, 8-1 O’ahu Interscholastic Association East) sustained its first loss in league play, falling at Roosevelt, 57-48 Wednesday.
Kalaheo (20-3, 8-2 OIA East) advanced a spot to No. 4 thanks to wins over Kaiser and Kailua.
Iolani (7-2 ILH) slipped to No. 5 after losing to Kamehameha-O’ahu and edging Maryknoll.
Kaiser, Kamehameha-O’ahu, Baldwin, McKinley and Maryknoll round out the Top Ten.
Roosevelt, which lost to Farrington after upsetting Kahuku, received votes but didn’t crack the Top Ten. The Rough Riders are 11th.
