HONOLULU—The amazing saga of Darnell Arceneaux took a bizarre turn Wednesday when he resigned as head football coach of Saint Louis School.

Arceneaux, 26, left after learning that there will be no teaching positions open for him. School administration had promised him a faculty position by the end of his first year as head coach, so the University of Utah graduate sought and completed requirements for a teaching certificate.

However, the school informed him Wednesday that there is no position available. Arceneaux, who guided the Crusaders to the state championship game in his first year at the helm, was disappointed, but relatively upbeat.
