What kind of college student has a passion for officiating and sportswriting? Why would he subject himself to pressure and stress that comes with both relatively thankless jobs?

Kyle Galdeira is that dude. When he's not reffing Pop Warner or OIA football games, Kyle makes his way to games with a notepad and stat sheet in hand to write stories for the Honolulu Star-Bulletin. Not a whole lot different from his days at Kamehameha Schools, when he showed up to football games with video camera, regular camera and other accessories hanging off his shoulders.

A one-man media center, which makes sense when you remember that his father is longtime TV reporter and anchor Lyle Galdeira. And the reffing? Kyle is grandson of legendary official Earl Galdeira, who passed away recently.

When he's not keeping tabs on his five (yes FIVE) fantasy league teams, Kyle enjoys shoveling platefuls of fried rice into his mouth at Big City Diner.

What is your name/occupation/hobbies? Kyle Galdeira, freelance journalist, playing video games (PS2 and XBox) and hanging out at the beach.

What is the attraction to fantasy football?Gives you a reason to watch every team despite their record or Super Bowl-winning potential.

What makes this league unique? Paul writes columns and talks in the third person ... awesome.

How did you come up with your team's name, and what does it mean to you? I'm a referee (hence the zebras) and I'm from Kailua.

As a franchise owner, what would you like to say to the fans? There's nothing like being there! (Sorry, had to throw in the gay UH motto.)

What would be the perfect roster for your team? As long as I have Peyton Manning, a top-5 RB, and a receiver like Steve Smith or Chad Johnson, I'm set.

What will be the more likely, realistic roster for your team? Probably one of the names mentioned above, two if I'm lucky.

Resume time: What is your history of success (or lack of) in fantasy football? What other leagues have you been in? Last year I played in a 12-man league and it was my first fantasy football endeavor. I finished in second place, and the only reason I lost was because my running back Edgerrin James was taken out at halftime.

What is your favorite food? Tie between spaghetti and pizza ... and the hamburger steak over fried rice at Big City Diner.

How much time will you spend in preparation for the Sept. 4 draft? A few mins, I've already prepared for the five leagues I'm in, so I'll use that research.

Are you a deal maker or a deal hater? Why? Maker, because leagues are won and lost based on deals and free agent pick ups, not the draft.

What is your take on the varied point modifications for this league? I'll have to see how it plays out first.

Who is the player you love to hate/hate to love? Would you still draft or trade for him? Brett Favre. He's my favorite player, but when it comes to fantasy, you can never tell. He'll throw for 4 tds and 300 yards one week, then come out 7 days later and throw 4 picks and fumble 3 times.

What player(s) do you refuse to acquire no matter what? Ricky Williams (duh).

What team owner is your fantasy football hero? TBD.

Who is your favorite NFL team, and what will you do to see them play in person? Green Bay Packers...pretty much anything that's legal.

Who has the cutest NFL (or college) cheerleaders? Miami Dolphins...yum.

Where should the HRC Ohana Fantasy Football League hold its post-season "banquet"? Big City Diner or Eastside Grill.

What would you like to see added or considered by the HRCOFFL? You got it all covered I think.

How many teams should be the maximum? 12.

How many leagues are you currently in? 5.

Would you be interested in participating in a Madden 2007 league? Of course.
