Dave Dods is an HRC fantasy owner extraordinaire.

He's been in the fantasy basketball and football leagues of the year past, and his Crusader Power franchise is back for another run. Dave talks to The Newsletter about fair-weather fans, da Bears, bad memories of Tiki Barber, and the importance of cheerleader research.

Owner: Dave Dods
Franchise: Crusader Power

What is the attraction to fantasy football? My attraction to fantasy football is I enjoy the ability to be a general manager of a football team. You get to draft the best players that you think can help you be successful, I also enjoy the competition and fun of the game.

What makes this league unique? This league is unique in that it has a group of cool guys that enjoy local sports.

How did you come up with your team's name, and what does it mean to you? My team's name is a combination of my high school alma mater and my love for working out aka 'Crusader Power'.

As a franchise owner, what would you like to say to the fans? I'd like to say thank you to the fans for supporting Crusader Power.

What would be the perfect roster for your team? I like the roster that I had last year, Tom Brady as the QB, Marvin Harrison as the WR, and Lamont Jordan as the RB, Jeremy Shockey as my TE, My Chicago Bears Defense, the only thing I would've liked to add would've been another stud RB.

Resume time: What is your history of success (or lack of) in fantasy football? Last year my team had a lot of success, as we were ranked No. 1 going into the playoffs, however in the first round, Tiki Barber goes off for 200 yards, and I got bumped off, I believe I finished 5th overall :(

What is your favorite food? My favorite food is steak, I try to have it at least once a week.

How much time will you spend in preparation for the Sept. 4 draft? I won't spend much time for the draft, I know who I want to get, if they're available, it won't take long for me to make my decision.

Are you a deal maker or a deal hater? Why? When it comes to trades, as long as both teams benefit, then I say by all means I'd be willing to trade.

Who is the player you love to hate/hate to love? The player I love to hate is TO, I can't stand the guy, too loud and obnoxious, and he's too into himself, that is one guy I have no problem passing on in the draft.

Who is your favorite NFL team, and what will you do to see them play in person? My favorite NFL team is the Chacago Bears, I've always loved them, from the Super Bowl shuffle to the many 4-12 years, to their recent success, I've always been a Bears fan. Those fair weather types of fans bother me, you know the guy with the Texas Longhorns shirt or the guy with all the Pittsburgh Steeler gear, to me a true fan sticks with his team, good or bad, to me I believe a true fan can answer this following question: name all five members of your favorite team's starting offensive line. To me a true fan knows everything about his team, especially the guys that make the offense work, as you can tell I'm a former o-linemen and current o-line coach.

Who has the cutest NFL (or college) cheerleaders? As for the cutest cheerleaders, I'll have to do more research on that topic :) I'm bummed the Bears don't have cheerleaders.

Where should the HRC Ohana Fantasy Football League hold its post-season "banquet"? As for the HRC Ohana banquet, as long as it's Paul's treat Roy's sounds good to me, nah just kidding, I like Willow's, just because it's a buffet, everyone can just sit down, have a good meal and get to meet the other fantasy owners.

Would you be interested in participating in a Madden 2007 league? I am a football video game junkie, I would enjoy playing in a Madden league. Hope this answers your questions, talk to you later,
Dave
