Tight end is one of the best positions anyone could play.
You get to catch the ball, especially in key situations. You get to blast people. It's the best of both worlds.
That's why it's impossible to feel bad about Moanalua's Savaii Eselu choosing Oregon yesterday. He's 6-foot-4 and 245 pounds, good speed and hands. The only way he would've fit at UH would be as as defensive end, or perhaps, a running back.
He wants to be a tight end, and 10 of the 11 schools that offered him scholarships were ready to have him there.

Honolulu Star-Bulletin: Savaii Eselu picks Oregon

Here's the rest of the story that didn't make print.

> Eselu's athleticism is a big plus for Oregon, which has relied on slotbacks but is venturing into more sets with bigger pass-catchers for mismatches.
"I'm probably 60 percent at the slot level. I'm working to improve that. I guarantee, by the time i get up there, I can play slot," Eselu promised. "I can definitely play in the trenches."
