Pupule's Top 10 ballot, Jan. 28
Posted at 12:57 PM

Another week is in the hoop books, and there may have never been as a much balance and parity as we have statewide. As long as the quality of play is solid, I don't mind not seeing a dominant team in the BIIF or MIL, ILH or OIA. Even the KIF is up for grabs now that Waimea has lost.

[new: Sunday AM] Not as tough today as I'd expected. Kahuku and Waianae are improving considerably. On the verge of cracking my Top 25. Better yet, one (or both) of them could find a route to the state tourney.

[new: Saturday AM] Midway through the Iolani-Kamehameha game last night, I could not help thinking, "Great ... Kamehameha is in control of this game, up 12 ... Iolani's gonna lose and I'm gonna have to decide between Saint Louis and Punahou for my No. 1 vote ... when is this merry-go-round gonna end?" Of course, I was fretting over nothing. Iolani's comeback was nothing short of miraculous. And now, I can leave my ballot pretty much the same as it was last time.

[new: Thursday AM] Not a lot of games on the table last night, but some very key matchups. Kalaheo, the hottest team in the OIA Red East, solidified its place in the pecking order with an 18-point win over Moanalua. Punahou went to Saint Louis and won by 14. Hmm ...

[new: Wednesday AM] Aw cheewiz ... every time Moanalua moves up, they lose and move down ... every time Moanalua moves down, they win and move up. Enigma. That's what Na Menehune are. In slow, loud syllables out of the voice box of Dr. Evil, "Eeeniggggmaaaaaa."

[generic] I'll be updating my ballot for the week each day for everyone's viewing pleasure (and/or displeasure). Ballots for the Star-Bulletin Top 10 are due Sunday, 3 p.m.
