[new: Sun AM] In just 24 hours, so much has changed. Some of the hottest teams in the state have stumbled. A few are done for the season far earlier than expected. While Campbell, Kalaheo, Radford and Kaimuki have advanced to the OIA Red semifinals, Moanalua, Leilehua, Kailua and Mililani will have to fight for the fifth and final remaining OIA state berth. ... In the OIA White, Thompson upset Aiea. That means Thompson joins Farrington, McKinley and favorite Kaiser in the OIA White semifinals, and Aiea, Waialua, Waipahu and Nanakuli are done for the season. ... On the Big Island, Kamehameha-Hawaii have defended their league crown with a close win over Konawaena. In case you missed it, Keaau lost on Friday and is out of the playoffs. ... Konawaena will play the ILH's third-place team next Saturday for the last state berth.

[new: Sat AM] Last night's BIIF playoffs shook the ground for the league's top four D-I teams. With only three state berths available, the odd team out is Keaau, which lost to Kamehameha-Hawaii in what was, basically, an elimination game. Regular-season champ Honokaa fell, which means Konawaena and KS-Hawaii will battle for the BIIF title and the league's top seeding at the state tourney.

[new: Fri AM] Ladies and gentlemen, we have a new (ILH) champion. Didn't get to see it, but from the looks of the scoring by quarters, Punahou was in command after halftime at Iolani. Final score: 60-46. It could have been worse if not for poor free-throw shooting by the Buffanblu.

[generic] I'll be updating my ballot for the week each day for everyone's viewing pleasure (and/or displeasure). Ballots for the Star-Bulletin Top 10 are due Sunday, 3 p.m.

1. Punahou (22-3, 11-1 ILH)

ON THE CUSP

11. Honokaa (22-3, 14-2 BIIF)
The skinny: The format of the BIIF gives regular-season champ Honokaa an automatic state berth. The new format, though, means the loss to Konawaena in the semifinals gives Honokaa the BIIF's second seed. 17. Keaau (20-7, 13-3 BIIF)
The skinny: Cougars' season comes to an end with a heartbreaking loss to Kamehameha-Hawaii. The Cougars are one of the top teams in the state, but end up as the odd team out since the BIIF has just three state berths.
