A three-team league sounds preposterous, but if you watch closely, competition doesn't get better.
Star-Bulletin: ILH Division II preview
Damien. Iolani. Pac-Five. The philosophies on the gridiron vary, coaching is sound and talent is fairly even.
For now, Iolani is the frontrunner. After winning the last three ILH D-II titles, the Raiders continue to prove that football isn't just a game of girth.
Pac-Five may have the most hostile defense among the three. These guys came up as sophomore starters two years ago and took their lumps. Now this defense is the group dishing out the lumps.
Damien's line play is benefitting from new coach Brian Derby, a.k.a. the block doctor. He is renown for his decades of teaching the art of line play at year-round clinics. Running back Kama Bailey has also benefited: 563 yards in three games.
Someone start up an ILH football TV network and I'll subscribe.
