Rankings based on Honolulu Star-Bulletin Top 10.
Friday's games
Iolani (4-2, 3-0) vs. No. 1 Saint Louis (5-0, 2-0) — Every few years, Iolani pulls off a miraculous upset. Three seasons ago, Kiran Kepo‘o led the Raiders over Saint Louis 36-31. The Crusaders may be weary from a rugged schedule, but they won't be napping. Pupule says: Crusaders wear down Raiders, 31-17.
No. 2t Punahou (3-1, 1-1) vs. Pac-Five (1-4, 0-2) — Buffanblu are rested and ready. Wolfpack defense is tough and vastly overlooked. Punahou will find the going tough until the second half. Pupule says: Buffanblu 31, Wolfpack 12.
Kailua (2-5, 2-3) vs. Moanalua (2-3-1, 1-3) — Crucial battle for playoff position. Key battle: Moanalua QB Jordan Monico vs. Kailua LBs. Pupule says: Surfriders escape, 34-25.
Aiea (4-3, 3-2) at No. 10 Leilehua (3-3, 2-2) — Na Alii may be the hottest offense in the OIA Red. Mules have a proud defense and coming home will help. Pupule says: Mules prevail, 23-19.
No. 8t Kapolei (4-2, 2-2) at Radford (0-5, 0-4) — Hurricanes beginning to gel. Radford's Epa Maika could toss the pigskin 50 times. Pupule says: 'Canes 26, Rams 16.
Campbell (2-2-1, 2-2) at No. 4 Mililani (5-1, 3-1) — Sabers may be the most underrated team in the state. Can they overcome more off-field issues? Pupule says: Special teams provides the difference as the Trojans win, 30-23.
Kaimuki (5-1, 5-0) at Waialua (2-4, 1-4) — Battle of the Bulldogs goes to the green Dawgs. Pupule says: Kaimuki 34, Waialua 20.
Anuenue (4-3, 3-3) at Pearl City (3-2-1, 3-2) — Na Koa have heart and grit, but the Chargers have depth and Antoin DeWalt. Pupule says: Chargers 22, Na Koa 16.
Kaiser (2-4, 2-3) at Roosevelt (4-2, 4-2) — Cougars have renewed confidence, but the Rough Riders will be ready. Pupule says: Rough Riders 27, Cougars 21.
Waimea (4-0, 2-0) vs. Kauai (4-1, 2-1), Vidinha Stadium — How tough is it to beat Kauai twice in one season? The Menehunes would like to prove that it can happen, but my gut says the Red Raiders even the series with a hometown win. Pupule says: Red Raiders 20, Menehunes 14.
Baldwin (3-1, 2-0) at Kamehameha-Maui (1-3, 1-1) — The Bears have too much ammunition for the rebuilding Warriors. Pupule says: Bears 31, Warriors 13.
Maui (0-4, 0-2) vs. St. Anthony (1-3, 0-2), War Memorial Stadium — Interesting matchup between two old rivals. Sabers are learning a new offense again. Trojans are ready to surprise. Pupule says: Trojans 23, Sabers 21.
Keaau (3-2, 3-1) at Honokaa (0-6, 0-5) — Cougars are on a roll, while the hard-luck Dragons are hungry for a win. Pupule says: Upset special for the Dragons, 16-14.
Ka‘u (0-8, 0-8) at Kamehameha-Hawaii (3-3, 3-1) — The young Warriors are finding their identity and feeling confident, especially after last week's win at HPA. Pupule says: Warriors 46, Trojans 6.
Saturday's games
Damien (2-2-1, 1-1) at No. 6 Kamehameha (1-2-1, 0-2) — Battle of Kalihi won't get a ton of attention with UH playing at home, but the better game will be at Kunuiakea Stadium. Pupule says: Warriors 42, Monarchs 21.
Farrington (3-2-1, 3-1) vs. McKinley (0-5, 0-4) — Governors can't afford to overlook McKinley's dangerous playmakers. Pupule says: Govs 32, Tigers 25.
No. 2t Kahuku (4-2, 4-0) at Castle (3-3, 3-1) — Knights have pulled an occasional upset of Kahuku in the past, but the Red Raiders are out to prove that they are unified despite problems. Pupule says: Red Raiders 21, Knights 7.
Nanakuli (2-4, 2-3) at Waipahu (4-2, 4-1) — Marauders get a physical test from the Golden Hawks. Pupule says: Marauders 33, Golden Hawks 29.
King Kekaulike (1-3, 1-1) vs. No. 7 Lahainaluna (4-0, 2-0), War Memorial Stadium — Lunas are too seasoned for the young Na Alii. Pupule says: Lunas 37, Na Alii 19.
Konawaena (2-5, 2-4) at Kohala (3-3, 2-3) — The Cowboys won at Konawaena a few weeks back. Can Konawaena return the favor? Pupule says: Cowboys win a shootout, 33-24.
Waiakea (1-5, 1-3) at Hawaii Prep (3-2, 3-1) — The world's best hamburgers are grilled and served at HPA football games, but the taste of last week's 27-7 loss to Kamehameha-Hawaii is still sour for Ka Makani fans. Pupule says: Ka Makani 34, Warriors 26.
Kealakehe (6-0, 5-0) vs. Hilo (3-6, 3-4), Wong Stadium — The Vikings get their shot at the defending league champs. Pupule says: Waveriders 27, Viks 12.
