A Pupule view of this weekend's games.
Friday's games
MIL
No. 7 Lahainaluna (6-0, 4-0) vs. No. 5 Baldwin (5-1, 4-0), War Memorial Stadium — Two huge factors: 1. All-State WR Chase Nakamura will likely return to the lineup for Baldwin. Remember him? His speed and skills stretched the field as Baldwin scored 22 on last year's Kahuku team in the state semifinals. 2. Lunas stud Lake Casco (RB/FS) is hurting with a sore ankle. Pupule says: Bears 17, Lunas 14.
Maui (0-6, 0-4) at King Kekaulike (1-5, 1-3) — Home-field edge gives Na Alii the nod. Pupule says: Na Alii 47, Sabers 37.
OIA Red
Castle (3-5, 3-3) vs. Leilehua (4-4, 3-3), OIA playoff at John Kauinana Stadium — Weather is a huge factor for both teams, but particularly Castle, which relies on the pass more. So far, it's a sunny day on Oahu. Pupule says: Mules 18, Knights 16.
OIA White
Waipahu (6-2, 6-1) at Kaiser (3-5, 3-4) — Marauders want a strong finish to the regular season, but the Cougars want some momentum to carry into next year. Pupule says: Marauders 19, Cougars 14.
Roosevelt (5-2, 5-2) at Pearl City (4-2-1, 4-2) — Rough Riders have played real tough on the road this season. Pupule says: Rough Riders 33, Chargers 29.
KIF
Kapaa (2-5, 0-4) at Kauai (5-1, 3-1) — Red Raiders have a major psychological edge on Kapaa years on end. Pupule says: Kapaa is tough, the Red Raiders pull away 35-14.
BIIF
Kamehameha-Hawaii (5-3, 5-1) at Ka‘u (0-5, 0-5) — Pupule says: Warriors 50, Trojans 12.
Kealakehe (8-0, 7-0) at Hilo (2-6, 2-4) — Good weather means rain for Hilo. Good weather means dry mud for Kealakehe. Look out, but Kealakehe QB Kawai Kanuha is on a tear. Pupule says: Waveriders 44, Vikings 20.
Saturday's games
OIA Red
Kailua (3-5, 3-3) at Kapolei (5-3, 3-3), OIA playoffs — Hurricanes have a key edge with the home field, but this will be a tough matchup against Kailua's stud 'backers. Pupule says: Hurricanes 14, Surfriders 10.
OIA White
Nanakuli (2-6, 2-5) at Waialua (2-5, 1-5) — Golden Hawks are physical, Bulldogs have sneaky-fast Donovan Mata. Pupule says: Bulldogs escape, 41-35.
Kalani (0-7, 0-7) vs. Kaimuki (7-1, 7-0) at Kaiser Stadium — Pupule says: Bulldogs 41, Falcons 7.
ILH
Damien (2-4-1, 1-3) at No. 1 Saint Louis (7-0, 4-0), Aloha Stadium — Crusaders must corner Kama Bailey to secure victory. Pupule says: Crusaders 31, Monarchs 7.
Pac-Five (1-6, 0-4) vs. No. 10 Iolani (4-3, 3-1), Aloha Stadium — Wolfpack gave Iolani a big scare last time. Pupule says: Raiders 28, Wolfpack 14.
No. 3 Punahou (4-2, 2-2) vs. No. 6 Kamehameha (3-2-1, 2-2), Aloha Stadium — Warriors are gaining momentum. Too bad for them the season isn't split into first and second rounds like in the old days. Pupule says: Buffanblu 24, Warriors 17.
MIL
Kamehameha-Maui (2-3, 2-2) vs. Trojans (2-4, 1-3), War Memorial Stadium — Tough matchup. Pupule says: Trojans 22, Warriors 16.
BIIF
Honokaa (1-6, 1-5) at Keaau (4-3, 4-2) — Cougars are capable of beating a team like Kealakehe, but turnover problems continue. Pupule says: Cougars 33, Dragons 21.
Kohala (3-5, 3-4) at Konawaena (3-6, 3-4) — Rematch of Kohala's win at Konawaena a month ago. Pupule says: improving Wildcats win, 23-19.
