Undeniable Papaya

I like green papaya salad, and I like the way papayas look.

But don't mind me if I pass on the ripe, yellow goodness of a papaya for breakfast. Never liked it like that. Even as a kid, I dreaded them, but I'd eat them on mom's orders. One slip of a chunk of papaya from the spoon to the shirt and I'd be stinky all morning. Still, with a little lemon juice, papayas are tolerable and very healthy for you. I do like papaya seed dressing. With all the birds of Hawaii, it's no wonder the seeds get digested and spread around and about so easily.

Anyway, here's a papaya tree in Keauhou Mauka, next to the Chinese graveyard.
