Punahou and Kamehameha-Hawaii played in the final.

It was a terrific game. Just about everyone else in the final two rounds, however, was affected in one way or another by the forfeiture of Moanalua's wins. It's a sore spot, no way around it, and that's very sad for the players at big Mo. They endured more drama and disappointment than any team deserves.

More on all of that later. For now, Punahou is state champion by sheer will and hustle. Kamehameha-Hawaii came really close to pulling off the victory. Those facts are the only really simple facts about a week that was so, so strange.

And yes, D-II champion Farrington and runner-up Aiea both move up to Division I next season.
