But I have to say, watching SNL tonight, that the skit about Suze Orman was pretty interesting. The actress more or less nailed the Orman vocalization dead on. But then she said something to the effect that she would like you, caller, if you were a woman.

Haah?

Now Suze Orman has to be one of my favorite financial commentators/experts ever. I don't DVR her shows, but when they're on, I'm glued. She makes all the sense in the world. I talk to the TV almost as much as I do with Deal or No Deal is on.

So any talk about Orman being gay is quite shocking. And after a Google search took just a second, ba-ding. Yep, Suze Orman is a confirmed lesbian.

I'm not sure what to think of this. Financial news and commentary on TV is unique enough as it is, and she's one of the most likable, outspoken talking heads out there. I don't love her show any less. But it's almost funny that I never would have guessed, and even if I had tried to guess before, what does that matter?

I can say with certainty that I would've been a wiser man with my money had I known about her books and shows a decade ago. A Russian-Jewish American girl from a working-class section of Chicago giving people the common sense about their hard-earned money ... that's all I really know and all that really matters.
