Suns sinking
Posted at 11:17 AM
I love my fastbreaking Phoenix Suns, but they just can't get it going.
The beauty of a DVR is that now I can watch the end of big games like Phoenix-San Antonio and TNT's Inside the NBA with Barkley and the crew. Yep, I miss games all the time with my work schedule, but without knowing who beat who, I can tune in at 1:42 a.m. and it's just as good as watching it live.
So, the Suns sank again. They just don't match up well with the Spurs, especially without Shawn Marion. There's no real speed advantage for Phoenix unless Leandro Barbosa goes off, and that's a 50-50 proposition.
Yeah, I respect the Spurs. George Gervin is one of my all-time favorites. But please, Suns, win a coupla games.
Do you really think Shaq will lead the Suns to the NBA championship? Even now? That deal was simply to unload Marion, who wanted out after this season as a free agent anyway. It had little to do with the post-season.
Oh well. If the Lakers meet the Celtics meet in the finals, that'll be cool, and I'll be in a strange position of cheering for both teams -- and I'm a Laker fan from the Mark Landsberger days. KG has to be the most exciting defensive-oriented player in the league today.
I don't think the Lakers can beat the Spurs, though, and I don't see the Pistons beating Boston. Spurs and Celts? Looks like that is inevitable.
