I'll keep it brief.
Kaimuki @ Waianae. Kaimuki scored five TDs and Waianae had one, BUT ... Kaimuki "only" had about 40 players suited up and Waianae had 78. At the time, they were still evaluating for cuts. That being said, Kaimuki looked borderline great. Good mix of pass and run. Desmond Tautofi (6-3, 270) at WR was a serious load for the CBs of Waianae. Good hands for a big guy (he plays volleyball, too). But the interior was a good battle and Kaimuki won its share. Dustin Paderes looked good inside and outside. Waianae is fairly young at LB and they had some trouble spotting Paderes and the other RB, a transfer from Kailua who is really solid.
Waianae's offense had its moments, but a young O-line needs more time together. The new QB, Keoni Napierla-Rose, is tall, fast and smart. Good arm, but he's a better runner, can pick up chunks of yardage. Danny Kekoanui only had a few carries. He's going to be a stud as the workhorse this year. I'd like to see these teams meet in the playoffs. It would be a great matchup.
Mililani @ Kahuku. One touchdown for each side. Trojans showed a mix of formations, had some good moments from RB Trevor Lee and QB Joshua Manuma. Kahuku doubled WR Dalaunte "Taz" Stevenson most of the time. Kahuku's offense was interesting. They're trying out a lot of one-back (Ace) sets, even using stretch plays. I'm guessing they'll revert back to the traditional I formation, but adding more sets and looks is good. The new QB can throw the ball, and it looks like Kahuku is heading more in that direction. Just a little.
A lot of young talent at LB and O-line, and the sophomore (or junior) safety (forgot his name) is 6-2, 195. The defense will come around in time. St. John Lessary III had a few carries, and so did the new RB from Washington, who is a stud at about 230 pounds with good speed and acceleration between the tackles.
Castle @ Kapolei. This ended up tied with two TDs each before a couple of skirmishes forced the coaches and officials to call it midway through the fourth quarter. The format was very similar to a game. Only thing missing was kickoffs and PAT kicks. Kapolei dominated the first half with LB Chad Lopati on a tear. Then the subs came in and Castle's no-huddle, run-and-shoot offense took over. (They looked a lot like Iolani.)
The QB, #7 (sorry, no roster) was very good with Lopati on the bench. Castle has some smart blockers up front and some fresh new talent at WR and RB. They tied it up, some of the Kapolei starters went back in, and then the problems started. Otherwise, a very solid night for both teams before 400 fans or so at Kapolei, biggest turnout I've seen for a scrimmage. (Parking lot was almost full.)
Should note that Castle's DE, #84, was outstanding against Kapolei regardless of first or second string. Had a couple of sacks, terrific swim move.
OK, sorry. That was not brief.
