Dr. finally called about the lab tests. Wants an ultrasound of my liver to check for nodules and/or lesions. He thinks it's probably a fatty liver, but when I asked about nodules and lesions, he wouldn't answer. I asked if it could be cancer, and he said possibly, but unlikely. Nodules and lesions are associated with cirrhosis. I told him I hardly ever drink. I also asked about cholesterol and he said my number (good cholesterol?) is 142, which isn't bad. Average is 129. The overall number is 207 and anything over 200 is not good. Not horrible, but not good. I'm not surprised considering the lack of exercise I've put my body through the past three years. The doc is not quite the best at explaining things. I don't know if he's holding back info or just doesn't know how to find it in the lab report. Same thing as the last phone call, and this call is almost a week late.

I looked online and, supposedly, 129 is the cutoff point for near optimal for bad cholesterol. 142 is "borderline high" or average. I want to get this number down below 100, which would be "optimal."

Cutting out the carbs as much as possible, much as I like spaghetti. The doc brings up the probability of a "fatty liver" so I'm going all out to cut out the fat. Already eating less fried food, no mac salad (which I don't like much anyway), brown rice instead of white. Starting to avoid carbs at late night. Carbs turn into fat if they aren't burned off.

Intake
banana
beef stroganoff, tossed salad w/Italian dressing
2 popsicles
5 frozen strawberries
kal bi, rice, taegu, bok choi, cabbage (Gina's BBQ)

Output
15 minutes shooting baskets
30 minutes stationary bike (-206 calories)
note: I took the advice of a weight-loss website about going for the same workload over a longer period of time. That was good for my knees, which had been aching the past two weeks on the 20-minute rides. Though I got in the 120-130 heartbeat range at 20 minutes, I did a steady 105 at 30 minutes, and that works just as good for me.

I passed on playing pickup hoops to rest my left calf, which handled the stationary bike fine, but I can't put pressure on it, jump off it. I didn't feel the strain while working out two days ago. I felt it late last night. Not sure if it was caused by the stationary bike ride or playing pickup hoops.
