There's nothing quite like a thank-you from the heart.

The Amemiya family -- Keith, Bobby and son Christopher -- meant what they said when they donated $15,000 to Molokai High School's athletic department recently. With severe budget cuts and a gigantic annual travel expense (exceeding $50,000), the Farmers had worries. That's why the donation from the Amemiyas was so well-received; it was more than just a check.

So, the Farmers showed enormous gratitude yesterday when the girls volleyball team arrived on Oahu with aloha and some goodies from home: venison, opihi and sweet bread.

Much as I love opihi, I like the group hug photo (posted on the Star-Bulletin's Hawaii Prep World last night) best.
