- Iolani Classic, Friday (Dec 21)
12/22/07
More from the Iolani Classic....
- They said it: More Volleyball Fab 15 All-State talk
12/19/07
Punahou coach Jim Iams on Leinani Keanini, Iolani outside hitter:
"I just enjoy watching her play. She seems to have fun, she's very competitive, takes responsibility when she makes a mistake and gives out praise when she makes a play. She gets the most out of what she has. A smart volleyball player."
- More Iolani-Ji Lin
12/19/07
The speedy Dragons' spirited play had some local and visiting fans cheering, clapping and chanting the Mandarin word for "defense" on their behalf down the stretch.
- Where Keauhou meets Holualoa
12/18/07
Unfortunately, I missed out on much of the beauty, both natural and rustic, that is the signature of that area.
- Boredom for Bourdain?
12/18/07
Anthony Bourdain deserved better, but the tourist mafia got their slimy, sunscreened hands all over him.
- Hilo overwhelms Aiea 48-42
12/16/07
The win was Hilo's second on a three-game, two-day swing of Oahu. The Viks edged Mid-Pacific 45-41 on Friday, and completed a sweep by clipping the Kalani Falcons 43-42 on Saturday night.
- Love the guava
12/12/07
As a kid, I once bit into a guava and I found a half-worm in it....
- Raising the Bar

The same goes for public high schools. Just about every school has college prep/advanced placement courses, so the argument for a "better" education at a private school isn't very strong. I do believe that by "borrowing" strategies and plans from the very best schools (college and high school), the public schools (UH, OIA, etc.) can exceed expectations.
- Guavas
12/11/07
I never slowed down enough to notice guavas in Holualoa before....
- Holualoa
12/10/07
It started out as an afternoon mission to find Kunitake Farms. It turned out a bit differently....
- No Reservations means leave the man alone
12/07/07
Note to the HVCB: For the love of God, please leave Anthony Bourdain the hell alone. He'll do just fine unearthing the true, down-home gems of our islands without any stereotypical tourist b.s. Besides, I don't want to see a lame episode, especially in Hawaii.
- Turning the great pages
12/07/07
You know how easy it is to take something for granted when you delivered it to customers almost 30 years ago. Your hands get grimy with newsprint, a bit calloused from folding and rubber-banding your bundle before piling them all into your trusty, thick canvas bag.
- More rims for Kailua-Kona hoopsters
12/07/07
The Old Airport in Kona has been home to a gym for 14 years, but when the gym is closed, facilities are limited....
- No help for hoopaholics
12/06/07
Yep, even in the off-season, Donald Awa and Brad Uemoto are around basketball, in a gym, like a moth to a flame. Hoopaholics Anonymous, anyone?...
