- Pupule's Top 10 ballot
08/27/08
1. Leilehua 2-0 (0-0 OIA Red West)
Last week: def. Iolani 33-14
Mules did nothing to change my view. Though they're loaded with new talent on both sides of the ball, they haven't missed a beat.
- Followup to 'Major blowoff'
08/27/08
Sure, Kealakehe has twice as many students (and parents) as Konawaena. So what?

Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008 What a comeback....
- Ellis on comeback trail
08/25/08
"It was mixed emotions. I was happy to see my team, but it was kind of hard to look them in the eye knowing I can't play for them," he said. "But I had to be with them. They're my home away from home. My family."
- Major upset, major blowoff
08/23/08
I don't blame Brock, who had a game to cover that afternoon at HPA. But it's my humble opinion that the paper dropped the ball by not covering the Konawaena-Kealakehe game — a huge rivalry matchup — with another reporter. Maybe they had nobody else around. Maybe people are on vacation.
- Pupule's Top 10 ballot
08/23/08
1. Leilehua 1-0-0
Sure, Radford isn't an elite team, but they have a solid nucleus that could've been much tougher. Thing is, Leilehua takes pride in defense, and that unit carried the team last year while the quarterback position resembled a M*A*S*H unit in a war zone.
- No harm done for Firebrands RB
08/18/08
"Our whole goal was just to have our kids believe they can play with a great team," coach Joe Onosai said. "Our offense is something Kahuku's not used to. By the end of the season, Kahuku is always a different team. I'm glad we caught them early."
- Pupule Pigskin Picks, Week 1 (Aug. 15-16, 2008)
08/17/08
Still lots of kinks to work out for the new-look Red Raiders. Kamehameha, meanwhile, has been in camp, has gone through a lot of reps, far more than any OIA school.
- Mom
08/17/08
She's not suffering any more. But I still needed her. It was too soon.
- Scrimmage notes
08/12/08
Should note that Castle's DE, #84, was outstanding against Kapolei regardless of first or second string. Had a couple of sacks, terrific swim move.
- Every day is a good football day
08/10/08
Now that he's been established, Coach Tokuda doesn't have to constantly stay on top of his troops. Oh, they need a little nagging sometimes, but winning a state championship has a way of getting the soldiers' respect and attention in an instant.
- Cross checking: Hiram Bingham
08/10/08
Quite an amazing family. They got around. I still think, though, that the best job on Earth belongs to Bourdain.
- Notes about a latchkey cat
08/10/08
Cats don't respond well to people who give them whatever they want. They respond to calm, assertive leadership.
